What a joy it is for me to welcome you to the Kairos #46 Team. Thank you for your obedience in serving our Lord and Savior, and these residents of NECX. This email will be the 1^st of many throughout this journey, so please read and respond. It is imperative for you to read and respond to these emails.

Schedule:

–          Saturday, February 7^th from 9:00am-12:00pm – New Team Members (Never served at NECX with Kairos) meeting

–          Saturday, February 21st from 9:00am-NLT 2:00pm – First Full Team Meeting

–          Friday, March 6th 5:30 pm – Sunday March 8th 3:00 pm – Training Weekend at Camp Placid

–          Saturday, March 28th from 9:00am-NLT 2:00pm – Final Team meeting

–          Wednesday, April 15^th – Load trailer, Last inventory, Supper @ Bethany, & Worship Service

–          Thursday, April 16^th at 1:00 – Everyone meet at Bethany

– The location of these Saturday meetings will be at Celebration Church in Blountville.

– The Team Meetings and Weekend training are mandatory for you to attend as it is required by the Kairos International governing body based in Florida. There are a certain number of training hours required as a team that must be met.

– The WEEKEND will take place from Thursday, April 16th -Sunday April 19th. You will need to plan on being at our meeting place Bethany Baptist Church by 1:00pm on Thursday.

– Bethany church is gracious to host a dinner for our Kairos volunteers on Wednesday evening on the 15th followed by a service and if you are planning to take that full Thursday off, I would encourage you to come up on Wednesday evening to be part of this. We will also be bringing all our supplies into the prison Thursday morning and could use help.

Team Fees:

– We are currently asking for $150.00  

      – If this is an issue, please let me know.

Accommodations:

– At Camp Placid for the training weekend, we can stay at the camp, you may choose to travel home each night, which is fine. I will ask each of you to please bring $50.00 in cash to help pay for the facility use and for food during our stay there.

                        – Yes, $150.00 (Team Fee) + $50.00 (Weekend Training) = $200.00

                                    – Please pay these separately, money goes into different pots.

– Mountain City we have a cabin that is generously donated for our use from Wednesday evening through Sunday during the weekend. The only cost of this is a donation for the cleaning (generally about $25 – $30 per person for the entire stay)

            – 540 Bill Icenhour Ln, Butler, TN 37640 (Google Maps will get you there)

– In Mountain City there is a hotel where some choose to stay. It’s about 15 min from the church and prison. It is generally about $60/night, and you would be responsible for paying that if you choose to stay there.

– We will be blocking off a group of rooms for our weekend.

There is TDOC training to be completed, but the process has changed a little bit, so more to follow.

AGAPE Gifts

Here is a list of the Agape gifts we will be asked to bring. We will go over these more in depth at the team meetings.  

                          -80 Dozen Home-Baked Cookies

                                       – 42 Hand-Written Letters (Bring same pen)

                                                     – Chain Links (In bag with ends hanging on the outside)

    – Placemats (Coloring Sheets)

Prayer:

–          Lastly, prayer is the only way this weekend happens. I humbly ask you if you have not been praying, please do so. I ask for your prayers to cover this team, the residents attending this weekend, the inside team, all the employees of the prison and the rest of the residents. Pray for peace on this facility, a hedge of protection from the enemy around us and the prison. I pray we can be the tools God uses to continue His work. Pray we put on the Full Armor of God, prepare ourselves to defeat the enemy and bring the message we are meant to bring to these residents. Pray for obedience for us to be the hands and feet Jesus asks of us.

–          I can guarantee, if we are doing what we are supposed to be doing, the enemy will do what he can to sabotage this weekend.

–          If any of you know of or have been speaking to someone who is interested in being part of this falls Kairos weekend. Get that information to me as soon as possible please.
